So, despite being hit by the remnants of a hurricane, and developing into a full scale tropical storm by Thursday, I made it to the gym every day this week to complete my full cycle.
Last night I even jokingly posted on Facebook “Rain, rain go away so that I can not get poured on when I wake up in the morning to go to the gym and train!” Wake up this morning, rush to get a jacket with a hood, run out the door with umbrella ready to open and…no rain! The wind nearly blew my umbrella away though.
I was only outside for less than 10 minutes on Wednesday and my hoodie that I wore to the bus got soaked to the point that it took HOURS to dry. I’m so happy that I decided to pack my 2008 Boston Marathon windbreaker, which I only packed because it had a hood.
When I wrote my little goodbye to summer post, I had no idea that it would bring this with it! At first I was thinking, “Blah...at least it isn't an ice storm" considering the physical torment I endured to, with stupid determination, get myself to the gym while any and every surface was covered in ice. Then I started thinking it through and realized that this is basically a melted ice storm that never ends!
The point behind it all is that I got through the week and , now that it is behind me, there is no need to stress about it. We’ll see what next week brings, but the way I see it is that I have lived through worse, so bring it on! And believe me, God/nature/karma/whatever ALWAYS finds another way…
