So I have been inspired to finally twist some time to update what's been going on. Actually this week has been full of motivation to get a lot of things accomplished, and it couldn't have come at a better time!

So, what's been new?  Everything!  Life has gone non-stop this year and I have finally gotten a break without anything on my calendar in the forseeable future...which means I can finally get this book done.

I knew that things were coming and going until my birthday on April 2.  The weekend before my birthday (Mar 31 and April 1), I was invited out to participate in the Cherry Blossom Running Festival to pace the current Children's Champion in his first 5K.

I gave a speech at an event at Children's in DC to the title sponsors a couple years ago and they still remembered me.  I went to the runner's expo on Saturday, where I not only saw some of the people I met at the Children's event...but I met 3 previous US Boston Marathon winners!  There were 4 Boston Marathon winners under one roof on March 31!

One of the women who remembered me invited me to the elite athlete's dinner.  I went down to the bottom of the hotel for the reception, where I found a bunch of people mingling and drinking.  In the crowd, I found a few people my age who were invited out to run.  We spent most of th e reception just chatting and getting to know each other.  I even made a couple friends: Ian and Emily, who I am still in touch with.

In fact, Emily posted about the event, and even meeting me, on her blog: http://emilyandbee.blogspot.com/2012/04/2012-credit-union-cherry-blossom-10.html
so definitely check out her recount, her beautiful paragraph about me and what she's been up to...she ran the marathon trials in Houston and is looking to make a huge name for herself in running.  She ran great on April 1st, finishing 8th (the same as her bib number).  We just need to get her a different number for the next race!  Anyways, I'm honored to be her friend, and I hope Bee stays safe on those Arizona runs with the rattlesnakes out there!

Before the Cherry Blossom run things have been very successful with networking for after the book is finished.  Multiple bands and athletes are in awe at what Determination is all about.  Now I am just cranking up my writing hours with birthdays and other engagements behind me.

Book will be completed come end of the month, marketing materials for the new book will be started on May 1 and we'll keep our fingers crossed and throw good vibes into the universe.  Until then, I will try to post updates on here, but if they are as infrequent as they have been, I promise it's because I'M WRITING =)

April's been a great month thus far.  Here's hoping that momentum keeps on rolling.
